At an early age, Nicole Tamarin exhibited signs of creativity. From costume making to pretend travel brochures for her younger brother, she always seemed to be making something. A lot has changed over the years, although drawing has always remained a constant.
With an Honors degree in Illustration from the esteemed Massachusetts College of Art in Boston, Nicole’s design roots are in the delicate touch of watercolor, which she then formats digitally. From her traditional holiday designs to her soft feminine florals there is a subtle sophistication that comes through in every collection.
Nicole brings a unique vision into her art…her education in Illustration, and exposure to Industrial Design and Interior Design, has given her a wide lens for how to approach Design from the perspectives of theme, color, layout, space, pattern, and texture. Nicole’s talent incorporates the ability to understand how art turns into licensed products. Nicole says it best, “One of the most exciting things is seeing a final product develop from what was once just a sketch on paper. It never loses its thrill! Whether it’s opening a magazine to see my image nestled in the text, or seeing a product with my art on it, I just can’t help but smile!“
Today Nicole’s work can be found on a variety of products including quilting fabric, paperware, gift wrap, garden flags, home decor, wall art, stationery, invitations and greeting cards.
Nicole lives close to Boston with her husband who is an artist and musician, along with their daughter Sienna who, since birth, has been heading down her own creative path.
