Encouraged by her family with childhood gifts of art sets, Nancy Mink has been painting with watercolors since she can remember. With an interest in design, Nancy decided to become a structural engineer, presiding over a thriving engineering business for over twenty years. She took a few art courses in college while she studied engineering, but most of her painting experience has been self-taught.
She kept her hand in painting by providing watercolor renderings of proposed buildings for clients and planning commissions. Then, about fifteen years ago, Nancy’s art career was launched when an editor saw some of her work. Almost immediately, Nancy was licensing art with three magazine publishers and two greeting card companies. This was just the start of a dream come true. For over a decade Nancy’s art has been licensed for dinnerware, puzzles, fabrics and a wide variety of garden and home décor products, along with writing and illustrating two gift books for well-known publishers. Her artistic talent, along with extensive computer and technical knowledge, aids in a smooth, natural transition from painting to product design to manufacturing.
Today, Nancy Mink resides on a small 3 acre farmstead with her husband and yellow lab in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Her art studio has views of flower gardens and vineyards aflutter with birds and butterflies that give daily inspiration. Evergreen forests and the wild Pacific coastline are a short drive away to give more creative consideration for art collections. There may have been many years in between, but Nancy’s love for painting has come full circle since she was little girl. “God knew the desire of my heart. He gave me the talent, and through his love, gave me the means to use it to his glory and my pleasure when the time was right.”
